Tooltip does not appear when hovering over an image.

I'm experiencing a small, but annoying and frustrating, problem that I can't
seem to figure out how to fix.

You know how when you hover the cursor over an image, any text displayed in
its "alt=" field appears as a tooltip? That's not appearing for me. All other
tooltips in Windows functions just fine, as far as I can tell (I was able to
get "Close" to appear over the close button, for example).

How can I fix this? Is there an option or, if all else fails, a registry
entry that turns this on and off?

Thanks for your time.

Hi,
Internet Options> Advanced... try checking "Always expand ALT text for
images."

Hope this helps,

It was a nice try, but unfortunately, no, that didn't seem to do the trick. :(

I just can't figure out what caused this change... any other ideas?

Ah! Never mind, magically it DID do the trick, I think, 'cause now I am
getting tooltips correctly. Just the image I was using as a test was messed
up. *blush*

Thank you! :)

Well, according to this discussion at lists.w3.org this depends on how the
ALT text is written

It sounds like there isn't a setting that you can change.
