Tools for Oracle??

Hello,

I am wondering if anyone can recommend some good Windows-native tools for
working with Oracle.
The ones in Visual Studio.NET are so limited in functionality that they're
next-to-useless (really just a fancy query tool), and
Oracle's are all in Java now and are so heavy, slow and clunky that its all
but painful to work with them.

I saw someones post below also asking about Oracle and VS.NET 2005. Will the
working with Oracle be at all improved in 2005 over 2003?

Thanks in advance,
- Arthur Dent.

Oracle is working on a set of Visual Studio add-on's to provide this
functionality. I suspect they will be available for vs2003 and vs2005.

Until then, look at Toad (http://www.toadsoft.com/).

Really? Do you happen to have a link to any information about this at
Oracle? Id be curious to see any information they've made available about it
yet.

Well, these certainly sound nice if they ever come out. Im a bit wary as a
search on OTN doesnt turn up anything. :(

Thanks. Checked it out... not the prettiest, but it definitely seems to work
very well. :)

Hi.... If you might need a "heavier weight" tool than Developer, you might
look at Toad from Quest Software... I've been using it for several years now,
and it really does everything that I've ever needed with respect to Oracle
data. It's a bit pricey, but it has easily paid for itself in saved time for
us.
