Toolbar Button object missing (Smartphone App)

I've begun using VS 2005 (Team Edition for Software Developers) and just
installed the Windows Mobile 5.0 Smartphone 2005 SDK. I created a new
applications (both C# and VB) and can not find the Button object on the
Toolbar. I find it for WinForm and Pocket PC 2003 apps.

I've reinstalled the SDK with no effect.

Why is it missing and how can I get it installed?

Thanks.

I didn't know that and frankly don't know why it's not allowed. Still, the
MSDN article is a perfect reference for me to keep in mind as I work on the
Treo 700w.

I was trying to follow the "Creating a Windows Mobile LOB Application"
series and noticed Maarten Struys used a button and I couldn't! <g> I just
went back and see he's using the Mobile Pocket PC model, not the SmartPhone
model (which I have). Oh well...

Thanks.

I don't own a Treo 700w, but from what I understand it's a "smartphone"
meaning that it's a smart phone - not a Smartphone (note the capital "s"). I
wish they wouldn't refer to it as a smartphone. The OS is actually Windows
Mobile 5 Pocket PC Phone Edition.

So you should download the "Windows Mobile 5.0 SDK for Pocket PC" and use
one of those templates, which will allow you to use a Button.

Hi Tim,

I actually came to the same conclusion (about using PPC Phone Edition) after
I posted. I agree that it was confusing.

I noticed that installing Palm's SDK added the Treo 700w skin (and
emulation) under the 'Windows Mobile 5.0 Pocket PC' project type. Can't say
I can't take the hint... <g>

Thanks.
