In Explorer there is a "Tool Tip" pop up window that
displays if you move your mouse over a file name.
Before I installed sp2 it would show the "detail" of that
file.

On my network saved files It does not show the needed
detail about "Last Modified Date" "Author" - etc.

Is there a way to turn this Needed Info on to view the
tool tips on network files.

In Windows Explorer, I verified that in Tools > Folder
Options>View Tab and near the bottom that the check box
for "Show popup descriptions...",

We have a similar problem. We are using WinXP Pro SP1. Recently users
started complaining that when they hover over a file/folder it doesn't show
the modified date in the tool tip. Since we didn't apply SP2 yet, I don't
believe that is the issue, but think it may be an update from Microsoft.

Finally found the information on Microsofts site for this issue. See

But it states the newest service pack fixes the problem, but I installed XP
SP2 and it didn't solve the problem. It is a hotfix from Microsoft that you
need to fix it.
