Tool option settings for Outlook

We are using Outlook without Exchange server. We are upgrading to Outlook
2003. After installing and configuring Outlook, is it posible to automate the
process for setting options under Tools menu?

You can use the Custom Installation Wizard and Custom Maintenance Wizard tools from the Office 2003 Resource Kit to set virtually every option in Tools | Options.

edThank you for your responce and help. I had already found the info that you
suggested and hoped it was the answer I needed. However, the PCs in question
are new fm Dell and were ordered with XP and Office2003 preinstalled.
The CIWiz uses a (CMW file) based on the Windows Installer package (MSI
file). The CMWiz creates a OPS file in a Windows Installer transform (MST
file) to distribute the settings when Microsoft Office 2003 is deployed. Both
wizards apperare dependant on an enterprise deployment. I was able to create
the OPS file. But when I tried to use it, it needed the location of the MST.
Is there a tool for PCs with Office preinstalled?

An .ops file can be run with the Proflwiz.exe application. It doesn't need a pointer to an .msi or .mst file.

BTW, the CMW probably can be made to work with even a standalone deployment, as long as Office setup source files are in some location that can be specified.

We still have a few older PC running Office97. We are using LDAP for the
Address Book. Will I be able to configure Outlook97 to use LADP?

Not without a third-party utility, if any are still around for Outlook 97.

If you are using Exchange, why would you need to use LDAP?

We are not running Exchange at this time. (Money issue.) We are using LDAP
sort of like the GAL. I am new to this company and have never worked anywhere
that used Outlook without Exchange. We hope to run Exchange in the near
future. We we run into any migration problems?
You have been a wonderful resource. Your imput is greatly respected!

Sorry, I misread the reference to Exchange in your original post.

Your migration will be complicated, because you'll have to deal with the fact that the users' data won't be in the Exchange server. You'll want to either migrate their .pst data or have the users do it. The Exchange newsgroups have lots of information on ExMerge, etc.
