Tool bar keeps vanishing

Excel 97. Could someone give me instructions on how to change my toolbar and
then have that become the default for all previous and future Excel
spreadsheets. Thank you.
 
Not sure what toolbar you are talkin about? To select a toolbar, click on
<Tools>, <Customise>, select toolbars, and tick those you want. You can also
untick those you do not want
