I hear here and there, when the issue about which editor to use, that
Frontpage uses way too much codes. But if that is so, which codes can I
remove, or what parts?
They say it is bad for the speed that a page loads...

Use Notepad for the cleanest code.

How much time would you save?

For example, on a 56 kb modem that achives 48 kb you would be able to download 480 characters per second or 14,400 per 30 seconds.
That is a lot of code to strip out of FrontPage HTML.

You'd be better served to speed your design with FP and then optimize your graphic files.

What you heard is not true.

You can reduce the amount of code generated by FP, by avoiding the use of Themes, navigation,
database components.

Non - proprietary code that should work anywhere? Not to mention, more
efficiently.
