Has anyone ever experienced a "...too many users are connected..." in a
windows 2000 workstation?

The workstation I am getting the error message on is being used as a "print
server". It's setup in a network sharing the printer. I have been able to
workaround it by opening computer management and closing user sessions.
I've looked through security policies and user session restrictions but
maybe I'm missing it or it is something else. Does anyone know what could
be specifically causing this error? If it could be more than one thing does
anyone know where to check for all possible settings?

Win2000Pro maximum concurrent connections is 10.

Thanks for responding so quickly.

Is there any way to increase the maximum of 10 concurrent users? Or maybe a
way to disconnect users after say 10 sec. of inactivity?

You need to purchase Windows Server, e.g. Small Business
Server.

You could use WinExit from the Window Resource Kit to log
off inactive users. However, I do not think that they would
appreciate this, no matter what the idle period is. Sooner or
later you will cause someone to lose a lot of important data.

Like I said, it's just a print server. No one will really lose anything
that they can't just re-send to print. I can deal with that.

Then I suggest you install a hardware printer server. You can
now get them for around $100.00.
