device manager shows 2 identical proccesor drivers also has ACPI
Multiprocessor PC driver....but only have one processor. any suggestions on
this would be great

Your computer likely has a hyperthreadirg processor. In this case, what you
are seeing is normal as your one processor is actually two logical
processors.

You are using an Intel 'Hyper-Threading" enable motherboard and processor.
Hyper-Threading is an Intel techicnolgy to provides 2 virtual processors on
one physical processor. Your system is reporting everything correctly.

I cannot believe there are *STILL* people asking this! Did you bother to
RTFM that would have been supplied with your computer? No, of course you
didn't - that would have been too much like hard work.

How long has the P4 CPU been around now? Three, four years? Google!

What is this "Google" of which you speak?

I overheard someone say it was an early version of MSN search.

Heh. I usually use Google to search the MS support sites anyway...

this one uses many newsgroups to bash the unsuspecting info seeker..it is
best ignored in hopes it's ire dissipates...
