A user received the message "too many different cell
formats" on a worksheet they had been using for a long
time. They deleted all formats and still got the same
message. Eventually they deleted all the data and still
got the same message and when they looked at file size it
was 289kb. What can cause an entirely blank workbook to be
so large? Can anybody let me know?

Thanks for the reply but there is no data in the sheet at
all. Pressing CTRL - END just brings it to A1.

It's something in the background. I think.

Hi Neil
maybe some hidden object. Trys
- hit F5
- choose 'Special'
- choose 'Objects

and see if there're any object within your file

Frank,

Thanks again for the assistance.

I've tried what you suggested but it comes back with "no
objects found". Tried most of the other ones in that
screen too but didn't find anything.

Thanks again,

Neil.

Hi Neil
if you like email me your blank file and I'll have a look at it - no
guarantee - though :-9
