Toggle betwen "editing" and "pushing" a button in excel

When I place a button in excel, I can edit it (add code and such), but to be
able to "push" the button the only thing I have figured out is to quit the
file and get back in it. This is Excel 2003 I believe.

You are probably still in "design mode".

On the Control Toolbox Toolbar click on the top left button(looks like a ruler
and a tri-square).
