Today's the day.

Look for good deals on Windows 7 pricing. You can get deals online, or if
you can't wait, look for "Family Packs" at the big box stores and the
computer stores which enable you to acquire Windows 7 for only about 65
bucks a copy (which is pretty inexpensive - especially for people who use
their software day in and day out all year).

Windows 7 is upgradable. It runs faster than Vista, so if you already have a
computer that can handle Vista, then you have a computer that can run
Windows 7. And in the real world, even older computers can run Windows 7
decently if they have a gig or two of RAM (cheap) and a capable video card
(most any you can get today).

Only true in the States. In the EU, Win 7 is expensive.
Windows 7 is upgradable

Really? And you and upgrade it to what, Windows 8?
. It runs faster than Vista,

BFD, no large accomplishment.

True, I installed it on a compute running an AMD XP 2400+ processor with
1.5 gigs of RAM and an nVidia 6200 with 256MB RAM and it ran fine. It's
an imitation of a Mac and Linux but Microsoft isn't exactly famous for
innovating. They are more into stealing others' ideas and saying that
they are their own.

I suggest you save up for Windows 7. Oh, you are an Ubuntu fanboi? Then
there is no reason for you to get the new Windows 7 which is rock solid.

Much better than that piece of SHIT Ubuntu that doesn't run any of the
popular programs out there.

Correction: Alias is into stealing Microsoft software and hates everything
Microsoft with one exception: Alias just loves hanging out in the MICROSOFT
Vista forum trolling.

Get a ****ing life loser.

Can't seem to find the Windows 7 Pro upgrade link on the 741.com web
site. All I get is the Home Premium upgrade.

Anyone have a link to the Pro upgrade?

Have you heard of Google?

P.S. I was talking Canadian dollars.

In US dollars, it would be less than 50 bucks per copy.

www.741.com is a webhosting site. Why would it sell Windows?

Great! And then in about 6-12 months it will actually be usable!

And when did you become an expert's expert on anything, COLA man?

In the early 80's. I learned the hard way, from DEC RSX - you NEVER
upgrade to anything as soon as it's released. There are ALWAYS problems.

Maybe in your house. I installed Windows 7 in about 20 minutes.
Another hour for my applications and up and running. If it would take
you 6 months or more, I suggest staying with that crappy Ubuntu that
runs those INFERIOR Open Sores software packages that are junk.

Windows 7 is way over your head.

Quite frankly, I don't expect to ever see it running in my house - I'm
brighter than that and I care more for my money. Linux is perfectly
adequate.

I've been running development applications on Windows 7 since August. No
problems. You are just a Linux zealot. Stay away from Windows. Open Sores
is for you.

Windows 7 is the exception that proves the rule. I won't say there will not
be any issues with it - with just about all computing there are issues that
pop up from time to time - but the beta and then RC stages showed Windows 7
to be an exceptionally ironed out package and very ready for prime time.

The retail bits (RTM version which is the same as what is on the store
shelves today) have been out for a number of weeks now, and the reports are
that it is a very stable release.

lol And anecdotally, we've been running it here with great success.

Unless you realize it's just SP3 for Vista... in which case, they
might have it right at this point.

Me, I'll wait six months anyway.

Sure. It will take you that long to figure out how to use Windows 7!!!
