TOC, Hyperlinks, Boomkarks!!! Please HELP

I created an E-book in Word that will be converted to a PDF document. Here
is what I would like to accomplish-----

1. I would like for the reader to see a thumbnail (or bookmarks) of the
table of contents on the left, click on a particular chapter and link
directly with that chapter. I also want the table of contents to remain
visible in the thumbnail/bookmark section on the left of the PDF so that the
reader can jump between chapters.

*Right now I am having to click on the table of contents in the main
document and then it takes me to the corresponding chapter. THe problem is,
the TOC on the left keeps moving and the print is so small, I can't see it.

I hope this all makes sense, please help!!!!

What application are you using to create the PDF? The Office 2007 add-in,
Adobe Acrobat, or something else?

This is a standard feature of Adobe Acrobat, so long as your Word file has
the appropriate Heading styles assigned to the section/sub-section headings.
Ensure your converting settings includes "Convert Headings to Bookmarks" as
selected.
Once the PDF has been created, you can (in Adobe Acrobat not sure about
other applications) save the file with a prescribed the inital view setting
of "Bookmarks Panel and Page" which is what you describe. This ensures that
when the file is opened it will always have the bookmarks on show.
Hope this helps
