To get sound from an Audigy 2zs sound card on Vista x64. Download the latest
Windows x64 driver "SBAX_WEBUP_LB_2_08_0004" from Creative. Verify that the
onboard sound is disabled in the bios. Right click on the driver
installation package, then click "run as administrator", then run, follow
installation instructions. After rebooting the sound should be stereo by
default. To change the speaker settings right click the sound icon in the
tray, click "audio devices", double click "play control", open
"configuration" tab to setup your speakers.

Thanks Dennis...

Good to see that people will, sometimes, post the correct way to get
something working on the ng.

Takali:
Thanks for the compliment. After reading other posts about trying to
install Audigy drivers, disabling UAC and driver signing, then jumping
through multiple hoops to install the drivers, (including references from
Creative chat). I knew that I didn't do all of that to get the sound working
on this machine. I just rebuilt my test machine with w2k3sp2 x64 and Vista
x64, so I paid attention to what I did to get the sound working. All that I
know is that the sound works on both of my Vista x64 machines and it wasn't
hard.
