To insert Date and Time in every new message

I'd like to append to every new message the current date and time and
I'd like that they appear automatically. I tried to modify the
signature but I can't add a "time and date" field automatically
updated.

Is there any macro to do that ? I never use macro, please help me.

The date & time so entered would be the time the msg was made/saved and not
neccessarily that at which it was sent, which in any case is shown in the
headers of the msg
