To get attachments to print as icons or names

Hi

If you have a message with the attachment embedded in the body of the message you can print the message and can see the file name and the attchment icon. However if you have amessage with the attachment visible only in the header (under the subject heading field) when you print this off it will print the message with all the fields (to, from, and subject) EXCEPT the attachment field with the file name of the attachment in it

How can I get the name of the attached file to appear in the latter case

Thanks, Jen

Hi Jen,

Wath version of Outlook are we talking about here? If you print in Plain
Text the attachment icon will be visible at the bottom of the e-mail.

Hi,

This is Office XP, running on XP. I have just checked this, by switching mine to plain text, then printing a message which had an attachment which was only visible in the header attachment field, and this definitly does not show the file name of the attachment anywhere on the printout.

Thanks for your continued help,

Jen

Hi Jen,

Open the received message and chose Edit-> Edit Message... Then choose
Format and note that it has been set to HTML. Switch this to Plain Text. The
icon will show now for the attached files (not embedded pictures). You can
choose File-> Print Preview to verify it as well so you don't have to waste
paper and ink trying ;-)

But my client wants to have his HTML-formatted message printed out in the original format (tables, etc) AND to see the icons and names of the attached files. Isn't there any solution to solve it without purchasing any third-party software?
