Win 2000. I am gettting thousands of zero byte tmp files in the local temp
folder for the user. Did a virus scan twice and came up with nothing.
cleared spyware. when I did virus scan it told me that the IPNET.SYS was
corrupt and could not be read.

would this cause upwards of 7000 tmp files in just under 3 hours. and they
don't clear when i log off or restart.

please help.

Run FileMon http://www.sysinternals.com/Utilities/Filemon.html
that many temp files you should know fairly quickly what program is
involved.
