Titles and Credits don't work HELP!!!!!!!

Hi:

This should be so simple, but I can't get it to work. I click on 'Tools",
then "Titles and Credits" , click on the option I want and no preview appears
on the right, nor can I change the title animation (when I click on this
option a screen appears with no options). In addition, when I click on
"Done, add title to movie", nothing happens. No error messages appear and
nothing appears on the title overlay either.

Any suggestions? I have tried reinstalling MM2, updated my entire computer
with recent Microsoft upgrades include SP2 and nothing helps, I'm about
ready to give up.

Thank you!

I am also experiencing this problem, but it appears to have started after I
upgraded to SP2. Now it appears I can't download & reinstall MM2 because its
bundled with SP2 as MM2.1. I had no problem with adding transititions.

Hi Rusty and EllenK,

Various people have posted claiming success at regaining their titles by
either installing XPSP2, or spyware remover programs such as AdAware
(http://www.download.com/3000-2144-10045910.html). I can see from below
that both of you are already on XPSP2 ...so...the next step might be to try
AdAware. If you decide to give this a try, please post back and let us know
what happened.

I've been trying to track this problem down, but haven't been able to
reproduce it....Would either of you be interested in helping me determine
how this problem happens? Email me at (e-mail address removed), and I'll work
with you to try to resolve the issue.

Thanks!

Hi Kristen. I have had AdAware & SpyBot for a long time. I have also had
success with MM2 without a problem. It only seems like since I've installed
SP2 that I've had a problem. I'm willing to assist you in your diagnosis.

Some reports suggest that installtion of SP2 resulted in some DLLs becoming
unregistered somehow such as the dll for DV capture (qdv.dll). To eliminate
this possibility I would suggest you install (or reinstall if have got
already):

1. DirectX 9c
2. Windows Media Encoder

It could be something else though. Do you get the same behaviour if you turn
down the graphics hardware acceleration from Control
Panel ->Display ->Settings ->Advanced ->Troubleshoot. ?
