Title & Text Layout - Bullet issues

When using the Title & Text layout sometimes we want to
turn the bullet off on the first line of text on Level 1,
the second line of text on level 1 will have the bullet on.

We save the file, then when we re-open the bullet is
automatically placed back on level 1 (without re-applying
the layout). I have the auto correct option for automatic
layout for inserted objects turned off. This seems to be
an intermittment problem for some files.

(PPT 2002, Windows 2000)

Any suggestions?

Do these files have multiple masters? If so, try moving your second master
so that it's first in the list of masters.
