Hello,

I just purchased a new notebook and have ran into a couple of problems.
While using notepad.exe I get the following error whenever I try to save a
file:

C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\ink\tiptsf.dll is either not
designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the
program again using the original installation media or contact your system
administrator or the software vendor for support.

I have ran into another dll error with almost the same verbage while
clicking on the button at the lower left of the log-in screen. I refrain from
posting that one for now though since I think that it might be related to
this one.

This is on a factory installed Windows Home Premium installation. All that I
have is a system restore DVD btw. Any assistance is appreciated.

Hi mohh,

Try uninstalling the ink files. Go to the Control Panel/Programs and
Features, click the line to turn windows features on or off. Uncheck the
Tablet PC box, then apply/ok your way out. Reboot, then reinstall those
components. See if this helps. If it does not, as the system is brand new,
you need to contact the manufacturer as you may have a faulty installation
or a hardware (most likely hard drive or memory) problem.

Thanks Rick,

I'll give that a try. I do own an Intuos 2 tablet, but I haven't installed
the drivers for it yet. Should I install them before or after reinstalling
the Windows TabletPC ones? Or does it not matter? Is this feature needed for
machines without a tablet? Sorry for all of the questions, this my first
experience with this OS.

Hi mohh,

It's not really essential, but does add to functionality (things like the
snipping tool are part of the package).
