Timing out when connecting to Oracle

When I am connected to Oracle I am fine except for when I
try to do a group by on it. I originally was using the
Oracle 817 driver for the odbc connection. I also tried
using the Microsoft ODBC for Oracle and I am still
getting the same results. I also changed the OLE/DDE
timeout (sec) to zero and it did not help. What else can
I try to set? Please help.

Try a SQL Pass Through query.
It uses Oracle syntax and bypasses Jet to run on the Oracle server.
