TIMERSHOT

I have downloaded Microsoft's Timershot - will not recognise my camera - all
other software that I use is recognised by it. I have searched web and it
seems a lot of other people have the same problem - yet there is no help to
resolve the problem .. can anyone help please?

It's not a Microsoft product for starters...

In other words
Microsoft are happy to make PowerToys available to anyone - even though I
have Windows XP and the camera (Kodak) works fine with 2 other products ...
and that it appears if you search Google for "Timershot and problem" it
throws up many users with same problem. Microsoft is not interested in
helping resolve this ..

Pretty crappy service if you ask me ...

The PowerToys are *for* MS XP, but they are not a part of it. Did you see
the disclaimer? Always take your PowerToys with a grain of salt, to avoid
frustration.
There may be a Timershot equivalent through freeware or at low cost. Do a
Google search.

You didn't pay for it. Microsoft didn't write it. What's your problem again? That you want some stranger to spend their weekends writing a program to suit you?

Not Micros~1's camera, not their problem. Maybe you should have checked with
Google before you bought a camera incompatible with your system or bought an
OS incompatible with your camera.

The 21,000 programmers in Redmond are busy with important stuff.

ALL WRONG and MISSING THE POINT .... which is

If Microsoft are PUSHING (and yes they are by singing the praises of
downloading via THERE website) Powertoys ... then they should take SOME
responsibility towards ensuring that the at least work properly ...

To say just because they are third party or free does not excuse Microsoft
from approving (yes they are encouraging people to download as an extra for
Windows XP) an add-on ...

It's not just me that has a problem - do a search and find many with similar
problem ... either ensure it works or stop advocating it's use ..

BTW: I pay through the nose for MS products (both Mac and PC) so yes it
would be nice if those Redmond programmers gave something free and useful -
or at least tried to help their customers!

Read and absorb - I already said the camera works PERFECTLY WELL with
several other programs on the PC - so this means it IS COMPATIBLE ... or are
you just to thick to read properly?

The "Redmond Programmers" have nothing to do with PowerToys.
The "Redmond Programmers" are not in a position to give you anything "free
and useful." You would at least have to ask them directly in order to
entertain such a possibility.

Have a similiar problem, although "Timershot" worked well on a P3 w/XP. Have
noticed that entering "Timershot" delivers entries dated beginning March. I
completed in late March a new machine using a P4 640 & a "915P mobo" and
found on loading SEVERAL programs which worked with my P3, don't with the 640
combo above. Is it possible that these problems listed are associated with
new machines?
