TIMELINE FREEZE/WMM SHUT DOWN AND SAVING PROBLEM

Help very welcome with 2 problems:

1 Timeline freezes, seemingly at random and I have to shut down and reopen,
often every 5 mins or so. Or I get message saying WMM has encountered a
problem and has to shut down. I am importing Quicktime files from my digital
camera, converting to .wmv with Digital Media Converter for editing in WMM.
Movies are less than 3 mins duration with a few transitions, titles and
credits, and an audio/music track.

2 When I save either to hard disk or CD, movie plays back in psychedelic
colours, as if given a special effect, rather than real colours. Can solve
this on hard disk by converting back to avi, and playing in Quicktime player,
but need CD to play with ~Windows Media Player so other people can watch on
their PCs/tvs etc. (at least I think I do.)

What music files are you using? MP3 doesn't work well, use wma/wav/wmv.
The cd's MM makes are himat adn very few dvd players will play them,
although pc's should. You need a programme to make either vcd or svcd on a
cd disc or dvd authoring programme if you have a dvd burner.

Thanksu very much Graham, and to others posting answers to similar queries on
the board - very helpful.
