Timed image capture

I'm looking for a freeware program that will capture images from a
webcam (local, not the net) automatically every e.g. 5 min.
As an alternative, a screen capture program that can take screen
snapshots every n minutes would work too.

Any suggestions?

IrfanView can definitively do automatic screen shots every x seconds,
I guess it will do the webcam capturing also,
although I never tried this functionality myself.
(Does TWAIN support help?)

Enjoy.

try Cam Commander, VisionGS, Deskcam
try google!

thanks. And I'd just like to say thanks to the original poster for
bringing this subject up. The last time I looked at Google non of
this junk was up and i really had no idea the Irfan view would do
webcam stuff (I'm going there now - you sure?) CamCommander looks
very good but their network is a 12 KB connection and is still
downloading.

Payware. Granted only $5 usd but it times out after 50 uses and isn't
strictly ot. Still, worth a look. thanks.

Well bother. I'm wrong here (again) There is a pop at program start
that says it'll time out after 50 uses but it says reminder will end
after 50 uses.

| Will give the other two a try.

So I tried VisionGS and Deskcam. They are both Adware and Spyware.

|Bugger! I've got both installed!, how intrusive is VisionGS?
|I can just live with a little of adware but hate spyware, will adaware help?

Not sure. One of them displayed an ad banner off the program. The other
one said it would randomly display ads on the pictures you took. I don't
remember which was which.

VisionGS does its own little text banner thing every second capture but its
not too bad.
Deskcam - i couldn't work out the prob and spybot didn't find anything?

Hi there,

So I went back and reinstalled DeskCam. It installs a Radiate folder in
the start menu, and every time I start DeskCam there is ad banner in the
upper right part of the screen.
