I'm receive a message stating an error has occurred when I attempt to
synchronize with the Internet clock.
There are several messages scattered around the Internet concerning this
problem but none seem to know what the fix is and if this is a Microsoft
and/or a Vista problem.

Hello,

for me, it often won't work, too. Several attempts using
time-b.nist.gov
mostly have success.

Thad,

check http://winhlp.com/?q=node/48 for information, particularly
on which pooled time servers to use.

It's often a problem with you firewall. You have to open port 123 or 133;
check which one is correct.

Thanks for the hint. Have upgraded the web page and added this
information. The port is 123, reserved for TCP and UDP.

However, normally firewalls don't interfere, as this is an
outgoing connection. Only if the user has a third party firewall
installed that limits outgoing connections, this can become a
problem.

BS. Don't spend a cent or an euro on that. It's pure business... For once
Vista works very well.
