Time Synch

I have 4 Win 2k Adv Servers. 3 are running AD. All clients have Win2kPro

How can I set server A to synch with an external time source and then for
Servers B, C and D, and all clients to synch with Server A.

Any help greatly appreciated but instructions need to be basic as I am not
understanding. I have read the Win2k white paper on the Win Time Service but
none the wiser :-(

First you have to determine which AD DC is the PDC emulator, as this server
will be the authoritative time source for your domain. That server should
be set to synchronize with an external time source by typing the following
in a command window:

net time /setsntp:time.windows.com
w32tm /s

(If you have a time server you'd rather use than time.windows.com,
substitute its name or IP address)

Watch the event logs on the PDC emulator to make sure it's picking up a time
synch. If it is, and if you haven't fiddled with any settings on the other
servers or PCs the rest should be automatic, as all other members of the
domain will then use the PDC emulator as their time source within the
domain.

Also if you are running a Firewall / ISA on one of the Servers then you MAY
need to let UDP 123 out. See

force an update to check its working.
