time changing by itself

i am running win 2000 pro. i can set the time on windows
but it will change back incorrectly. no errors appear on
screen or nothing but it changes by itself. i can change
the time and even reboot immediately and it will boot up
incorrectly. this is happening on all my 2000 pro machines
at work. they are all stand alone machines. i log on to a
network but it is only being used as a file storer mostly.
(just for info) i downloaded the atomic clock software so
it will automatically fix the time adn it does, but
windows will change it back in a short time and the atomic
clock updates every 3 hours at best. i also have
downloaded the latest win 2000 pro patch. doesnt help. any
ideas?
thanks!!!

It's not Windows that changes your time - it is some internal
process that gets its time from some external time source.
Disconnect your machine from the network and from the
Internet for a few hours and you will soon find that the time
stays exactly the way you set it.

Your challenge will be to find the program that attempts to
synchronise your machine to an external time source.
