Time and Date in the Systray

John

I am trying to figure out how to get the date to be
displayed in the system tray along with the time. Currently
just the time is shown and I need to place the mouse
pointer on the time then the date will show.

That's how it is. It isn't any other way.

Then it shows how much you know, doesn't it?! If you unlock the taskbar and
drag it two lines high, the date will be displayed. This is how it's been
since 95 for Hades sake!

Increase the height of the taskbar. If using the new XP look, two rows high
adds date and day. If using the classic theme, you'll see time and date.

Hi

Not in NT4 and Win2k. For the NT-based OSes, WinXP is the first one
with this functionality.

You will need third-party software to do this. There are many freeware
programs. TClockExe was a good one; I don't know if it will still work
on XP. Do a Google search.

Unfortunately, in my experience, two rows adds only day. You have to
get to three to get date. Which is too much, and the order seems to me
the wrong way round

Alex, are you using the classic or XP interface? I am using the XP
interface and have increased display settings to 120 DPI. I am seeing all
three lines by the clock: date, time and day. Do you adjust the font size
for icons as well? If using the XP interface, maybe that's why you aren't
seeing the third line?

If you're using the classic interface, a double row taskbar will only
display two lines, time and date, as I mentioned before.
