Display both date and time

I already have the time displayed in the lower right corner of the screen.
I also want to have the date displayed along with the time. Currently, the
date will only be shown when I move the cursor over the time. I want the
date to always be displayed along with the time. Is this possible?

Thanks for any help!

Is there any way I can show the date on the Taskbar with the time?

Expand your toolbar to double its vertical size.

Thank you very much Carey and Uncle Grumpy, especially for such a prompt
response! I'm so sorry to sound greedy, but is there is a way to display the
date horozontally adjacent to the time instead of doubling the thickness of
the whole toolbar? Perhaps doubling the thickness of only the time/date area
in the lower right hand area? If that isn't possible, no big deal, I'm just
glad to have any option at all. I greatly appreciate your expertise to this
site!

When I try this on both my desktop and my laptop I only get the time and the
day of the week, not the date. Any idea why? There is a blank space where
the date should be. Looks like this:

11:38 PM

Friday
Both machines running XP Home SP2 all updates

Check on your time display styles/settings by going through the Control
Panel, clicking on

"Date, Time, Language, and Regional Options"
"Regional and Language Options"
