tif files in IE

When I'm not in IE and open a tif file it opens in
Microsoft Office Document Imagine, but when I'm in IE the
tif files open in Quicktime. I don't want them to open
in Quicktime - how can I get it to stop? I tried
uninstalling Quicktime, but it still tries to open that
way and give me an error, also

Thanks for any help!

Which OS? In XP you could restore all default associations with

regsvr32 /i shimgvw.dll
