Tidier view in Explorer

Daniel

Hi

I have Vista Ultimate.

When I open Windows Explorer the view in the left pane is very untidy,
showing many folders in an order I cannot figure out and I have to scroll
down
a long way to get to the Drives.

Is there a way to open Windows Explorer so the left pane view is of my
Drives only.

thanks

Daniel

Try a desktop shortcut with target
%SystemRoot%\explorer.exe /n,/e,C:\

Leave out the /e, if you don't want it expanded
Substitute any other drive for C

That's not drives only but might be what you are after.

I must add my Gripe..

this is a SICK concept by the baboon designers of Vista, thinking that
having a huge pane with folders like that
is something that is nice...

Thanks for your reply and for going to the trouble of posting the screen
shot, but
it is the clutter under Folders that I was trying to get rid of.

The earlier post by Tom Allen did the trick

Thanks Tom
the string without the "e" was exactly what I was looking for.
It's on my quick launch task bar and working well.

When all you want are the drives you might try clicking Computer on the
Start Menu. You can even set Computer to display as menu, that way, when
you click Computer, it will display all your drives. In order to set this
view, right click start, select properties, select "Start menu and click
"Customize." Under "Computer," select "Display as menu," click ok and
you'll have access to all your drives from the Start menu.
