Thunderbird ques. - moving address book

L

Larry Smith

Thanks again to those that posted and recently helped me to move the
profiles from my old Windows 98SE computer to my newer Windows XP
machine.
Thunderbird is working fine except for one thing.
The address book did not seem to come completely over. Most of the
email addresses are there but the subfolders they were in didn't make
it and I had a few "lists" that I used occ'ly and they are not there.

I thought the address book info was in the file abook.mab which can be
found in Application Data but I recopied that from the old computer
and pasted it into the same spot under Documents and Settings but the
address book still lacks the subfolders and the lists.

Any ideas?
I'm hoping it doesn't involve fiddling with the prefs.js file because
I'll surely screw that up.

TIA

Hope it helps,

I wanted to take a second to thank Wade who put me onto the
Mozillazine article that allowed me to export the needed address book
from one computer to another.

I always appreciate the help I get from this group.
