Thumbnails as icons only

help:I have just opened my connection to my server space
for storing photos and they only show as icons even when
I select view as thumbnails. the files open ok. they are
all jpeg. i run xp, ie etc...new dell 5-6 months
old...tried using paint, phot shop etc to open, only
changres icon displayed.
I cannot figure out what item might help me on windows
update and help pages. leary of registry changes
suggested cause it doesn't exactly fit my problem on any
i found...
How can I get them to open as thumbnail view for ez
editing. thanks

Try this, maybe it will restore the option:

go to...Start / Run and type:

"REGSVR32 SHIMGVW.DLL"
(without the quotes)(Yes, there's
a space between 2 and S)

Click...OK.

A dialog box should report the following:

"DllRegisterServer in SHIMGVW.DLL succeeded"


Also run Disk Cleanup to delete all of
your temp and temporary internet files:

(310312) Description of the Disk Cleanup
Tool in Windows XP

tHANKS, i TRIED THAT BUT DID NOT WORK. mY TEMP FILES ARE
EMPTY, ANY OTHER IDEAS?
