Thumbnail views - cant see

Pretty new to Vista. I was able to see thumbnail views of items in task bar
but now i cant. When i go to properties the thumbnail option is greyed out &
i cant check the box. Solution is probably really simple but i cant find it.
Any ideas....

Do you have the other Aero effects (transparent window title bars, flip 3D)?

If not search for Aero in help and support, and enable Aero.
