Thumbnail view

Two questions.. in My Pictures I cannot view Photoshop or RAW image
thumbnails. Any way to change this? Also, I one time if I had thumbnails on
my desktop it showed a thumbnails of the photo. At some point that function
went away...anyone know how to get that back?
