Some of my thumbnails show the pictures and some just show a windows default
jpeg. Any ideas how to fix that?
Thanks in advance,
Ray

I am running Windows XP Pro SP2

Thanks Wes,
That seemed to help somewhat. I now have the right click preview picture
back, but it does not work. The pictures still have the default icon. I will
reboot and post results.

Still the same after reboot. Picture preview on right click does nothing. I
will continue to investigate.
Thanks,
Ray

Read the instructions at the top
Scroll down to
80. Disable or Restore Picture and Fax Viewer
Click on Restore

pictureandfaxrestore.reg is the file that will download.

And try this:

Click Start |Click Run | Paste: regsvr32 shimgvw.dll | Click OK

If that doesn't work, make sure Preview default is set correctly.

When you open an image file in Windows XP the default action is to preview
it using the Windows Picture and Fax Viewer.

Value Type: REG_SZ

Also if that doesn't work...

I may have stumbled onto something. After completing the list below from top
to bottom, when running imgeditor.exe I am receiving an Imgeditor error.
This is when I am repairing the associations of jpeg. The error I am seeing
is:
-2147024891 Invalid root in registry key "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Classes\jpegfile\".
I am able to click and view the jpeg files, but not preview them with a
right click.
Thanks Wes for all of your responses!
