If that doesn't work, make sure Preview default is set correctly.
When you open an image file in Windows XP the default action is to preview
it using the Windows Picture and Fax Viewer.

That seemed to help somewhat. I now have the right click preview picture
back, but it does not work. The pictures still have the default icon. I
will reboot and post results.

OK...

Generic icon is displayed for a picture file when in Thumbnail view
