Three minute printing delay on ethernet connected printer

With help, I am now able to print on my ethernet network connected 2300DL
printer with UAC enabled on my Vista Ultimate OS. However, three minutes pass
between the time I click print and the printer actually begins to print. Does
anyone know how to get rid of this delay or what its cause is?

Knihtisk,

I am having the same problem (about a three minute delay and then normal
printing) with the same printer (Minolta QMS 2300DL with a static IP
address). Strangely however, I could print just fine a few days ago. I have
seen your other posts regarding UAC and printing. I have always had UAC
enabled and had no printing issues. I installed Vista SP1 a week ago, and
printing was working fine after that. The only thing that has changed on
this machine since my last non-delayed printing was a Zone Alarm definitions
update but I doubt any causal relationship there.

I tried to change the printer properties to not use spooling but got the
error message "Printer settings could not be saved. Operation could not be
completed (error 0x0000070c)."

I hope this extra information may lead someone here to suggest a solution.

Wishing us both luck,

Dave

there is a datatype selected in the Print Processor setting
