"This Page Cannot Be Displayed" error

Joe Regina

I attempted to install Net Nanny 5.0 on my daughter's
computer. The result has been that she can't use IE6
anymore. All we get is the "This Page Cannot Be Displayed"
error.

So far Net Nanny's Tech Support haven't helped. I have
tried to uninstall and re-install IE6 by using the "Set
Program Access and Defaults" without any success.

Her computer has XP Home and can still use Kazaa and
Norton Systemworks Live-update, but cannot use IE.

Tank you for any suggestions or ideas you can share

Best regards
Joe

Start by getting rid of Kazaa - it is prone to viruses and has known-confirmed
Spyware bundled with the application.

Use "Kazaa Be Gone" -
http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/files/kazaabegone.zip
Unzip the file and run the file, this is a first step.

Once done with the Kazaa removal utility, run a Spyware scanner.
Lavasoft's Ad-aware.
Direct download -

Lavasoft/Ad-aware home: http://www.lavasoftusa.com
Lavasoft Support: http://www.lavasoftsupport.com

Install, reboot, read FAQ and overview, use online update feature to
obtain the latest reference files, scan for Spyware much like you would
with your pre-installed anti-virus scanner.
Rid your machine of unwanted Spyware pests.

Perform these actions and please post back with your findings.
