This newsgroup is getting much slower

It's as fast as ever for me.

How big is your newsgroup file, how many messages does it contain??
Most AV programs scan the entire .dbx file every time you open the news group in the news reader,
and then start downloading new messages.

Try removing all downloaded message bodies and then compacting the file in OE Tools > options
Maintenance.
Or remove all headers and message bodies.

Mine right now for this group contains 5168 messages. I usually dump it when it hits 6000 or so.

I've noticed that I'm getting a lot slower each and every year!!!

Is is just me or is access to this newsgroup gotten
SLOWER in recent weeks?

I do use dialup and come in using:

age.client

but it seems MUCH slower than in the past.

I use cable and it's been hanging up my reader as well. I
don't have any difficulty with my other groups.

FYI, charter.net is my ISP.
