This is incorrect!! Word 2003

On every Save, Word 2003 creates a new full-size temporary copy of the file.
Fast Saves and Create Backup Copy options are not checked. I guess Word
should create only one temporary file with the latest changes. How do I get
rid of them?

System: WinXP SP2. (Maybe any relation with the system exists?)

When Word closes down, it should delete all its temporary files
automatically. Until it shuts down, you shouldn't pay any attention to how
many files there are or how big they are, unless you're running out of disk
space. (This is one of the reasons you should never open Word files on
floppy disks, besides their tendency to result in corrupted files.)

If the temp files don't go away when you close Word, you may have a
situation where you have folder permissions to write files but not to delete
them. That needs to be fixed in Windows.
