Hi, Everytime I click one of my desktop programs such as - dvd x copy or nero
burn an error message from the control pannel pops up - '' This file does not
have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an
association in the folder options control panel. I have windows xp
professional. I have done a virus check and delted some infectious files but
this made no difference. Also when i download a program from the internet the
same message pops up afetr the download has finished, so i cant even use it.
Im very desperate, any help would be great !! Thanks.

Try Doug Knox's .exe fix from http://www.dougknox.com/xp/file_assoc.htm
and see if that helps. Make sure your computer is completely clean by
doing your virus scan in Safe Mode. Make sure your virus definitions
are current.
