can somebody help me in recovering my PC. After running
spybot (fix problem) something damage my pc spybot
included will no long launc. I got this message if I try
to launch anyhthing this include going to control panel
etc...I could launc IE with no problem. I could run some
e.g Msn messenger by right clicking the exe file and
selecting "run as". I tried to run AC2 with this but it
did not work. I could run UNREAL II by using the cd and
selecting play....Freddie

I found that if you have spybot set to set for updates
automatically, and it cant get a cannection for some
reason it freezes and wont open, I had to uninstall it
and then reinstall it to get in and reset this.

Some programs have a form of spyware in them that is like
an advert which pays for the program so you can have it
free. Spybot will rip out all spyware and this will
sometimes disable the free program. If you read the help
files it is all explained.

Try using the restore facility to put all the removed
files back then scan again and check through the list, if
you see anything with a link to the broken programs then
you can left click them and add them to an ignore list.
Dont perge the restore files for a few weeks just to be
sure they arnt needed.

Thanks for the reply but there is nothing to restore I
think while spybot was deleting something it encountered
a nasty virus which activated the removal of extensions
or I suspect put an entry in my registry but I do not
know really
