Third Party Uninstaller

Hi,

I noticed there are few uninstaller application, such as Uninstaller 2008,
Perfect Uninstaller, Revo Uninstaller, etc, which claim by them that they
able to completely unistall the software we installed, including the
registry, and other leftover by that software.

Are these software safe to use for long run? I had a problem before, which
using some registry cleaner, it messed up my registry and some files, and I
had to restore my Windows Vista.

Hello Stephen,

Can end the same like your Reg Cleaner, just use the uninstall option from
MS and you can be sure it will work after the reboot.

These third-party programs aren't really "uninstallers", they're more like
"installation monitors". They sit in the background during a program
install, recording all actions taken by the installer, so later you can use
the software to completely reverse the changes made during installation.

In theory there should be no need for such programs since any uninstall
routine should both know what the installer did and be prepared to back out
all changes made but in reality not all uninstallers actually do so.

files in maybe Windows folder or some deep inside folder, which I might found
it one day.

Why didn't Windows had itself a build in features of this, it will be great
if every software won't have leftover after uninstalled.

A proper package management system is one of the areas that Linux beats
Windows by miles.

Revo works well, it runs the Windows uninstall file and then
searches some obvious places for left-overs, which you can decide to
remove or not. It's not perfect, but it's certainly 'good enough'.
