Third Party Software Installation

I just setup my new DELL that came with Windows XP Home - I have software
that is supposed to run under XP only. When I install the software the
following error message appears at the end of the installation: 'the
application or DLL C:\WINDOWS\system32\OLE2.DLL is not a valid Windows image.
Please check this against your installation diskette' - the only file I see
on the installation disk which is similar is OLE2.DL_ and it is smaller than
the OLE2.DLL file listed above. I have installed McAfee software and Office
Pro 2003 prior to attempting the software which raised the problem.

Is this a question to raise with the Third Party Software company?

Thanks,

TDR

Apparently the software you are trying to install wants an ole2.dll that
is different from the one that came with your system. It's quite
possible it is older, since your new Dell would be XP Service Pack 2.
Yes, this is something you should ask the software mftr. about. They
may have a new version for use with XP SP2 or know a workaround.
