Thesaurus stopped working. I know not why.
Word 2002 – done the check and repair thing.
How do I reinstal it / turn it back on?
I need it - Please help.

Hi =?Utf-8?B?UHlycmhvcw==?=,

Does it just not give you a result, or do you get some kind
of message? If a message, please quote the exact text.

If no result, I'd suspect the text is not formatted with a
language for which you have a thesaurus. Click in a word
you want to look up, then go to Tools/Language/Set
language. Which language is selected? (And what is the
setting of "Do not check spelling or grammar?)

No message
Do not check spelling or grammar was checked.
Detect language automatically was unchecked.
The words I had copied from the internet were
French and German.
Thank you, Cindy Meister for the refresher course
on where to go to correct the problem!

I underline a clause and the whole page is instantly underlined. Why?
I bold a sentence and the whole page is instantly bold. Why?
I color phrazes to stand out and the whole page turns that color. Why?
I have to use ‘ctrl Z’ to correct this action every time I use any of these
tools.
Now spell check doesn’t work. Why?
The Tesaurus is gone again.
Several times, I have seen windows saying that tesaurus and spelling check
could not be found or just not respond atall.
I also can’t get rid of the ‘custom with numbers’ in the tool bar window.
I can’t remove Option toolbar.
Word 2002 – I’ve done the check and repair thing.
I’m dyslexic and there are just too many options. This is bewildering.
How do I stop Internet Explorer from changing the address icons in my
favorits column to Explorer icons?

This sounds like the style used to format the paragraph ("Normal", usually) is set
to automatically update.

Use the Format/Style command; as I recall, in Word 2002 this displays the Styles
and Formatting task pane. Look for the style name you see in the "Styles" list in
the Formatting toolbar. Right-click that entry in the task pane and choose
"Modify". Deactivate the checkbox "Automatically update".
