thesaurus problems

Annette

suddenly, when I try to look up synonyms, the thesaurus will open on
the right side of the page, but will not give any suggestions. If I
right click on the word, there ARE suggestions. I have looked at the
regedit suggestions, but as I do not have the "override" folder, it
seems I do not need a regedit fix. I have tried to "change" and
"repair" settings for thesaurus in Install/Add programs, but this has
not changed anything. I have tried changing the Editing language to
something else, and changed it back, also without success.

It is possible -- but not definite -- that this change is linked to
installing an Add-in for the EndNote bibliographic software. How could
I check if this is the problem? And if it is some sort of conflict,
how might I go about solving it?

I would really really like to have both the thesaurus and the EndNote
connection as I am writing a dissertation, and use both all the time.

I have Word 2007 and Windows Vista. Thanks so much!

Hi Annette,

You can try starting Word in Office safe mode (hold ctrl key while starting Word) that will disable the add-ins temporarily, to see
if you get the Word functionality back. You may want to first check the research pane=>Options to see if the Thesaurus and
Dictionary choices are already check marked.
