Thermal grease on processor pin

In removing the heat sink off the AMD 64FX-51 processor on ASUS SK8V-UAY
mobo, it appeared the folks who built it used WAY too much thermal grease.
It's white, and was gobbed up in huge amounts all over the outside of the
chip/sink. In removing processor, when I tilted it up in my hands, a little
string of the grease swung around and hit one of the pins. It's also all
down the sides of the silver part towards the pins, like not just sheened
over the silver surface at all; lots of overflow down onto the brown base.

So I'm sitting here with a couple coffee filters and rubbing alcohol,
looking for any suggestions/tips on how I can clean this pin and the rest of
the processor off. I mean, seriously, ANY help and tips. I'm VERY freaked
out about proceeding, this was a pricey system and my home business PC, and
I'll never be able to afford another one. And yes, I regret ever getting
this deep in the system.

Please, please, please help.

Thanks for any and all advice, tips, etc.

Yes rubbing alcohol and guaze or q tip and you will have to replace the film
of white stuff when you put the fan back on. Yes put on some coffee lol

ISOPREL rubbing alcohol or acetone. Acetone is stronger and may be
preferable in your instance.

LOLOL Just chill a bit there friend - - - take your time and don't bend
them. Fortunately, it's not as though you were going to do cornea
replacement surgury! Hehe . . . I know the feeling though.

The chips are tougher than you think.

Son my son...

wipe the shit off and stop fornicating with it!

haven't you learned to program yet!

say..there's something neat to do

one day, I got the idea, it would be neat if I could build a GUI out of
graphics
I mean to say...make a working program from a visual perspective...

since I don't know code

*there is even a programming language called "mind ****" yes.

I searched up these terms. "visual progamming"

you try it, see what it spins out!

uh, i still haven't built anything useful, but I do own the latest
greatest visual programming language.

Thanks all, and yeah, I talked to a couple of my modding friends, and i
seems I was overreacting. Apparently the first screwing around with a
high-price cip is always very stressful, but then you learn these things are
complicated, but not made out of eggshell. All is working OK, and I'll be a
little more relaxed about moving stuff around in there.

Thanks again
