there is a problem with receiving mail what can i do to stop it??

every time i click onto send/receive it says "task 'pop.tesco.net -
Reveiving' reported error (ox8004210a) : 'The operation timed out waiting for
a response from the peceiving (POP) sever. can any one help me and tell me
what to do and how to fix it??? please

Are you sure that your mail server settings are set correctly in
Outlook? It appears that "tesco" is your ISP. If so, ask them for the
proper entries for your incoming and outgoing mail servers. Also, ask
them if they require authentication.

if you are using an antivirus scanner on the email, disable it.
