themes in Windows version vs. Mac version

Hi:
I have a Mac and a PC. On the Mac; I have office for Mac 2004, which
includes PowerPoint. It has a LOT of great looking slide design themes, but
it's not the newest version of the software. So, I downloaded a (free) trial
version of the new Office 2007 Professional suite for my PC, to check it out.

I really like the new functionality of PowerPoint 2007 (more intuitive,
with fewer clicks needed to get what you want); but there are also a lot
fewer slide design themes available, and they're not as cool and creative
looking as the ones available on PowerPoint for Mac 2004. Does anyone know
why, and whether there will be any new design themes available soon for the
Office 2007 (Windows) version of this software?

Thanks!

Thanks for pointing out that link. I had already seen one similar; for the
most recent version of PowerPoint. There are indeed some very nice designs on
the link you posted, though, so I appreciate your help.

However, that still doesn't completely answer my question, which is--why is
the Mac version so much more complete when it comes to themes, and why is the
current PC version (comparatively) so lacking in variety?

Even with additional themes available online for PC users, there are still a
lot fewer than in the Powerpoint for Mac 2004 version. It just seems kind of
odd, so I thought see if anybody knows the answer.
Thanks!
J.

Sorry, I thought you were just looking for a larger variety of templates.
The difference is not between the mac and pc, but between 07 and every other
version. For all '07 applications they provided fewer "in the box" templates
and themes and provided links to Microsoft instead. If you click the More
button for the themes in '07 you will see:
More themes on microsoft office online
(http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/templates/CT101043291033.aspx)
As well as a browse option to find templates you have stored elsewhere and
an option to save the current theme (an original or modified theme)
This actually gives us more and ever changing options with less hard drive
space being used up with things we never use...

There's a new PowerPoint version for Mac available, too: Have a look at
Office 2008 for Mac. Though I cannot comment on the templates, because I'm a
PC person and have not used the new Mac version yet.

Best regards,
Ute

I don't think any of us here know the answer. I suspect, though, that once
themes were developed on the PC, they were implemented on the Mac. And the
Mac version came out a year after the PC version, so the Mac business unit
had an additional year to build themes.

That's my guess, anyway.

Oh, duh. My answer (just posted, but not showing yet) was referring to
Office 2008 for Mac -- I missed the 2004 reference. Disregard, please. :)
