Theme graphic for Horiz Nav Buttons won't change

After copying a preset theme to a new name I changed some of the Theme graphics. All worked fine except the Horizontal Navigation buttons. They show up with the original graphic even after I publish the site. However, the new graphics appear in the "Theme" window in Frontpage. The new buttons do not appear in the page preview window.

Any thoughts?

(Put another way, how does one change graphics for the Horizontal Navigation buttons in FP 2002?)

The correct way to change a Theme is through FrontPage:

1. Choose Theme from the Format menu.
2. Select the Theme you want to modify.
3. In FP2002 and earlier, click the Modify button.
In FP2003, right-click the Theme and choose Customize.

Is that what you did?

Yes, that is what I did. I am using FP2002. After saving an existing format to a new name, I proceed to change/modify the graphics of the new version using Frontpage-Format-Theme-Modify-Graphics. As I said, it all seemed to work...except for the Horizontal Nav Buttons. They would change on the Theme page, but not on the web page. Frustrating.

You need to make the modification first, then save under a new name, then
remove the current theme, and apply the newly modified theme.

I appreciate your feedback, and agree that that procedure should work -- and seems to for ALL the other graphic components. However, the horizontal nav bars simple will not change. I have tried that procedure (and just verified it once more)...this is not a question of "I don't know how to do this", but one of "this does not appear to be working as it should".

If someone running FP2002 can try modifying the horizontal navigation graphics within their Theme, it'd be nice to know if this is an anomaly peculiar to my installation, or a common one.

Thanks again,
-Doug

I tried it and it worked.

I modified the Afternoon theme, save it as Copy Of Afternoon, and then
configured a horizontal Link Bar With Custom Links. The new picture
showed
up fine.

Thanks, Jim -- that's good to know. I'll re-install FP and all the updates and see if it still is misbehaving. Thanks again for your help. -Doug
